The plain facts about what YourCardSentry is, what it is not, and where its figures come from. The full documents are our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Not a bank, lender or financial adviser

YourCardSentry is a spending-control tool. We are not a bank, a lender or a financial adviser. We do not hold, move or spend money, so nothing is deposited with us and nothing is insured through us. We do not extend credit or run credit checks.

Nothing on this site or in the app is financial, tax or legal advice. The spending limit is one you set, and decisions about your money are yours.

Read-only access through Plaid

Plaid provides the connection between YourCardSentry and your bank. You sign in on your own bank’s page inside Plaid, and your banking credentials are never given to us. Our access is read-only: we ask Plaid only for account details and transaction history, and nothing in the product can move, send or spend your money.

We are a customer of Plaid. Plaid is not affiliated with YourCardSentry and does not endorse it. By connecting an account you also agree to Plaid’s end-user privacy policy. How we handle what Plaid sends us is in the Privacy Policy.

Accuracy and timing

The figures come from your bank through Plaid and are not real-time. Transactions usually reach us some time after you make them, and a pending charge can change amount or disappear before it posts.

Your bank’s or card issuer’s statement is the official record of what you spent and what you owe. Our figures can lag behind it or differ from it, so do not rely on the app as your only record.

Alerts inform; they do not prevent

An alert tells you where you stand; it cannot stop a purchase. Our access is read-only, so we cannot decline a card, block a transaction or freeze an account.

Alerts depend on your bank, on Plaid and on email and mobile networks, so one can arrive late or not at all. An alert is a helpful warning, not a guarantee that you will not overspend, and it should not be your only safeguard. See Alerts in the Terms.

Trademarks and examples

Card and bank names shown on this site — Chase Sapphire, Chase Freedom and Prime Visa in the dashboard preview on the home page — and the names of the providers we use, Plaid and Stripe, are trademarks of their respective owners. Their appearance here does not mean those companies are affiliated with or endorse YourCardSentry.

Amounts, card numbers, dates and other figures in the preview and in the examples on this site, such as the $1,000 budget and the sample text messages, are illustrative. They are not real customer data.

Pricing

YourCardSentry is a paid subscription: a household needs one to use the app, and the primary is the one who pays for it. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you pay, and payment is handled by Stripe.

You can cancel from the app at any time; the subscription keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not renewed. The details are under Subscription and billing in the Terms.

How we make money

YourCardSentry earns its revenue from subscriptions only. We receive no referral, affiliate or other payments from banks, card issuers or Plaid.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies and no third-party scripts.

Text messages

YourCardSentry text alerts are optional and off until you turn them on. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel. How the program works is on the text alerts page.
